SEASOFT Weight Belts™ have been coveted and comfortably worn by hundreds of thousands of divers since they were introduced in 1985. SEASOFT Weight Belts™ consist of two rubber tubes of sealed-in, corrosion-resistant lead shot. These tubes are covered in a tough neoprene for amazing comfort and durability with a solid stainless steel buckle and slide to make them incredibly soft and comfortable. They’re tough too, with a 4 year warranty that is very simple: if any lead shot is accidentally released from your SEASOFT Weight Belt™, it is repaired or replaced – period. This warranty even includes rental belts; try to out dive a rental weight belt! If you’ve never tried the above methods for safer and more comfortable diving, we encourage you to start today!” SEASOFT Weight Belts™ come in 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 20, 25, 30 and 35 lb. sizes. All sizes adjust to fit any waist size. All SEASOFT weights are available in kilogram marked graphics. Colors: RED, Neon YELLOW, Hot PINK, TURQUOISE, Royal BLUE, Neon GREEN, PURPLE, & BLACK. Message from Bruce Justinen: “I’ve taught hundreds of “Proper Buoyancy Control & Weighting Seminars” all over the world in the last 25 years. Here is what I and hundreds of other instructors recommend: 1) Divide your weights up for a safer, more comfortable dive by using a weight belt (4-20 lbs.) as your “primary” ditching method, and BC weight integration as your “secondary”. Your ditchable weights should represent 50-70% of your total weights. Important: seek the advice of your instructor or SEASOFT dealer for the weight package that is right and safe for you! You’ll be more comfortable with less weight on your waist AND less in your BC. 2) Diving is safer when you ditch a lower percentage of your weights in an emergency. You will have a moderated ascent instead of an abrupt uncontrolled ascent. This diminishes your risk of an air expansion injury. 3) If you were ever entangled while wearing a 3 mm or thicker wetsuit or drysuit, it might be impossible to free yourself because you couldn’t take your BC off. If you tried, you might experience extreme positive buoyancy (with all the weight being in your BC) and be unable to maneuver to free yourself. |
